We envision a community where every person is trained and confident in life-saving techniques, creating a safer environment for all. Through our comprehensive and compassionate training programs, we aim to inspire a widespread commitment to health and safety. By promoting excellence in CPR and first aid education, we strive to be a beacon of hope and preparedness, ultimately contributing to a world where lives are preserved, and emergencies are met with competence and care.
Our Focus
Our focus is on providing an interactive, entertaining course that encourages student participation. Our courses are structured so students not only learn the material, but are able to retain and recall the information when presented with a true medical emergency.
Our Classes
CPR-AED & First Aid
This course from the Health and Safety Institute (HSI) is intended for individuals with little or no medical training, who require certification for employment, OSHA, school, and/or for personal knowledge. It includes training in adult CPR-AED and adult first aid with optional additions of training with children and infant CPR and AED use.
BLS
This BLS Provider Course, from the American Heart Association (AHA), offers the essential CPR certification required for most healthcare professionals and those intending to work in medical environments. It encompasses CPR and AED usage for adults, children, and infants, and also covers team dynamics.
Pediatric CPR-AED & First Aid
Designed for anyone involved in childcare who is responsible for responding to illnesses and injuries in children and infants during the crucial first minutes until professional help arrives. This includes parents, childcare workers, teachers, camp counselors, and others in similar roles. Training encompasses adults, children, and infants with a specific pediatric first aid component.
Our Approach
At our Yuma, AZ business suite in the heart of the city, we provide American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR-AED, and First Aid classes specific to pediatrics, as well as
CPR-AED and First Aid training that satisfies OSHA-mandated job requirements from the Health and Safety Institute (HSI).
We also offer onsite training for medical offices, dental offices, hospitals, schools, daycares, gyms, workplaces, construction companies, and many other industries.
All of our classes include hands-on practice, lectures, and videos. After completing a certification class, students will receive a digital certification card within 24 hours, valid for two years.
At 1 Up CPR, we create a fun, low-stress environment designed to enhance the learning experience with real-life scenarios.

AMBER GUTIERREZ
Amber Gutierrez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Respiratory Care from Boise State University. With extensive experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), her expertise spans the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and patient education. For the past decade, Amber worked as a travel RRT, collaborating with hospitals and healthcare systems nationwide, honing her life-saving skills. In 2019, Amber embraced a new chapter of motherhood and relocated to Yuma with her husband, responding to a profound spiritual calling. While raising her children and serving her local church's medical safety team and Kidz Church, she discovered a gap in life-saving training options within her community. Driven by this realization, she embarked on a mission to provide essential CPR and emergency training locally. Though nationally licensed as an RRT, Amber's true passion lies in empowering her community with vital CPR and first aid education. She is dedicated to equipping individuals with the skills needed to save lives, embodying her commitment to service and safety.

With over a decade of experience in behavioral health and more than 20 years in the professional tattoo industry, where annual Bloodborne Pathogen certification is required, Anthony has developed a passion for providing clean and sterile professional environments that uphold the highest standards of health and safety. During the pandemic, Anthony recognized the need for quality CPR training providers in the local community. Partnering with his wife, Amber, he sought to offer life-saving skills to others in the area, addressing this critical need.
My experience was very personal Amber took the time to explain every step. Helped me step out of my comfort zone, helped me start my healing process I needed with being ready to perform CPR. She is very professional with experience and knowledgeable respiratory therapist. I recommend 1UP CPR to all agency’s in need of staff training, You will not be disappointed. You will get trained and certified same day.
Why Train?
Without CPR, approximately 90% of cardiac arrest patients will not recover. Why? As educators and an organization, we want to improve our community. If we can equip people to be ready to respond, lives will be saved.
Every 90 seconds, someone experiences a cardiac arrest with 7 out of 10 occurring at home or outside of a hospital.
Why does this matter? Cardiac Arrest does not discriminate and can occur without warning. If bystanders are able to administer CPR immediately, lives are saved.
